Companionship

[ kuhm-pan-yuhn-ship ] noun

having someone you know and like with you, rather than being on your own

Hi, I’m Roz, a Cornish maid whose returned home after 23 years of teaching and living in Malaysia, Thailand, New Zealand and China.
I am known as ‘CornishKiwi’ after 15 years living in New Zealand, meeting my Canadian husband there, getting married on the beach there and having my 2 children there.
I grew up playing endless sport; which led me to Leeds to study a sports degree, then to Exeter University to train as a PE teacher. This has opened so many doors and experiences starting my career working in tough inner city London schools to elite international schools. Health and wellbeing has become a huge focus in my own life, realising that I am significant in how I choose to live my life, and the choices that I make. As my body has aged, I have woken up to what personal responsibility I can proactively  take to live my best life. This has presented itself in a myriad of ways, my wellbeing toolkit, being my bit of gold.
Travel has been a huge part of my life. Despite the unique experiences and memories, it made me appreciate the importance of family and connection, especially when living through a pandemic overseas. Isolation became a reality and is a stark reminder of how many people live. I would like to take a step towards resolving that.

I needed help getting to a hospital appointment and doing my weekly shop while my regular carer was on holiday. Roz stepped in and made a real difference. I felt completely at ease with her – especially during the hospital visit. She’s a lovely person and her support meant a lot to me.
Eileen & Warner
We needed help with jobs we couldn’t manage ourselves, like clearing out and taking things to the tip, because of our age—we are 90 and 92. Roz was very proficient, helping with both the garage and the loft. We could sit back, watch her do it, and we enjoyed a chat and some company. Things are tidier, and we feel confident it’s been done. We would recommend Move It Shake It. We’re very happy with the end result.

Amazing results after only a few visits. Members are more active and motivated. We would absolutely recommend. Roz provides a very personal service tailored to your particular needs. Just amazing! The most fun sessions achieving great results.

Roz looked after our dog and stayed in our home. She was very friendly, helpful, and kept us updated with daily pictures of him on walks, which we really appreciated. We’d definitely be happy to have her again.

Serena Peters
Needed a house sitter/dog walker for our two large dogs. Roz stayed at the house and walked them every day. I felt she was extremely reliable and trustworthy and loving to my dogs. First time we have been away and I haven’t worried about the them. Roz was brilliant with the them and sent me daily photos of them out walking.  The house looked as if it had been spring cleaned when we arrived home. Would definitely use her again and the dogs miss her!

Poor mobility and pain meant I was unable to drive. MoveItShakeIt helped with comfy transport to the hospital appointment – and lots of patience and empathy! It was so personable and what I needed was taken care of and more, e.g. suggesting a blanket and pillow in the car, plus handling it well when I was teary after my medical appointment. While results or improvements aren’t so relevant to my situation, I do have some peace of mind knowing that the service exists and is a positive experience. I would recommend MoveItShakeIt to others because of the answers above. I’m very grateful that there’s a service that I like and could recommend to others. When you’re temporarily in low mobility, knowing what help is available is important.

I needed to have my little dog looked after for a weekend as I’d been let down at the last minute. Roz came to see me and meet my dog and to tell me about her work. This conversation was important for me to gauge if I felt Roz would care for my dog in the way I wished. I had confidence that Roz would care for my dog properly. I was sent daily reports and photos of my dog on walks, swimming etc. and updates on how my dog was doing. My dog seemed to have enjoyed her time with Roz and her family. I think they also missed her! Yes I would definitely recommend Roz. She is amiable, friendly and helpful and gave me the confidence that I could trust her with my home and dog while I was away. I would highly recommend Roz.
